Yesterday, May 9, 2009, I gave a talk about video blogging with Azrael Colladilla. If you think my post will be boring and shit like that first sentence, you’re wrong. Because no matter how awesome the event was (and really, it was made of win), I, being Kring, had a lot of fail moments.
So I went there looking like I’d have a client meeting and even wore my shiny booties (a type of shoe) for full effect. Just so you know, guys, I don’t look like crap all the time. I dress up, too, sometimes. But the cab driver dropped me off somewhere and I had to walk on rocks and grasses and I dunno, random asphalt to get to the building.
Just as I entered Malcolm Hall, boing! My heel snapped. And those are like brand new Janilyns. WAT. I thought of buying a gum to stick it back in place but then I became unstupid and started to panic when I realized I was in UP Law and not some silly Mentos commercial.
Did I mention I haven’t even registered yet at that time? Pwnd.
I was pretty surprised to find out that the event started on time. AJ and Mica were giving their talk already (and it was gay! gay! fun! fun!), and were followed by my other friends P0yt and Fritz soon after (“That’s not photography. That’s digital imaging!” – tanggera. lol).
For our talk, we showed a short intro video, which was kind of a parody of the Mac vs. PC ads.
Blog vs. Vlog
Az did the video blogging overview and I, the how to’s. And on my 3rd slide, somebody shouted out “WRONG SPELLING!!!”, which was echoed by the entire auditorium. I gave ‘fabulous’ a make-over and made it ‘FABOULOUS’! The audience cracked up like crazy while I was like “Oh, shit! This is on video!!! LOLZ.”
But nah, I don’t get embarrassed that easily. It was a nice ice-breaker and I am now dubbed the “fabOUlous vlogger!” Odebba? Plus, to err is human so don’t judge me. I’m just a funnysexy human, who’s kind of corny, too.
Immediately after our talk, I rushed to the mall with Poyt to buy a new pair of shoes, hence, missed Benj and Juned’s and Winston and Coy’s talks. Sorry, guys. I owe you. Not to sound rude or anything but the afternoon session was kind of a blur to me. I wish I had more interest in marketing my blog or earning from this but my ADHD got the better of me. I found my self skecthing Billycoy’s face and lol!plurking with my seatmates on a notebook- a Sterling notebook. We also listed down those who were noisy, standing and late.
We had dinner after the event before heading to the after-party at Katips. It wasn’t as crazy and packed as last year and there were no chickens and yagits this time. But the peeps at our table decided to be awesome and cool so we kinda… danced around. Like idiots. Especially me and Poyt, who went from table to table singing/dancing to Loli-loli-lolo-li-pop-pop and asking for alms. Fail Pilsen. I also kinda harassed a kid that night *wink wink* but let’s all just keep it a secret, kay?
All in all, it was a really great event and was well put-together so I congratulate the organizers, especially Ms. Janette Toral for an awesome job. It is a privilege to have been a part of it and thank you for the contribution to the community. See you next year!!!

It was a great (nay, fabOUlous) talk — you and Az had everyone with the intro vid. (and you sealed the deal with the fabOUlous, lol) It was a blast hanging out too! Nice seeing ya guys again!

I love how you picked that ‘faboulous’ thing… it was brilliant, you can give stand-up comedians a run for their money because of your quick wit.

Di ako naka-attend this year.
But I can imagine it really turned out well.
LOL on the fabulous! Akala ko sa video, sa presentation pala. It’s okay Kring lol… true funnysexy human lang di ba.
That’s the downside sa video blogging. Pagna-render na at mali yung isang spelling… back to rendering it from the top. Kung na-upload na sa YT tapos mali pa… grrrr… I got this one girl’s name wrong one time sa vlog she was like “My name’s NOT Joy!!” LOL!
