I normally don’t blog like this so I warn you now that THIS WILL BE SPAZZY AND INCOHERENT AND FULL OF WTFLULZKTHNXBI’s. ALSO, THIS IS LOOOOOONNNGGGGG.

So earlier this week, my gay officemate mentioned that 2NE1’s Dara Park was coming to Manila by Thursday. I mean, if I wasn’t in a meeting for 12 hours and 8 hours on two consecutive days respectively, I would’ve went “YEY! Whoo! Win!”, but I had work up to my nostrils and I just… couldn’t get myself to show excitement. Afterall, she was an artista for 4 years here and I didn’t really care that much.
But yesterday, while on a shoot, I thought it would be a good chance for us to meet with her and talk about the Kpop Con. And with that realization, I pulled all the strings I can to get me and the girls to meet Dara.
I called a good friend and blockmate from ABSCBN Interactive to get us in. I threatened a friend from MYX and told him he’s dead meat if we don’t get in. I called up friends from the ABSCBN local prod dept. and asked if they could throw their weight around and well, get us in. Needless to say, my efforts paid off.
This was Wednesday afternoon. That night, I met up with Mishi so we could buy gifts for 2NE1 in behalf of Cass Ph (the Kpop con organizing commitee) and I bought personal gifts, too for BIGBANG, which I thought I could ask Dara to give them. Fangirl fail!
However, let me bring you back to reality and remind you again that I HAVE A JOB. A CAREER. As much as I like to froth my mouth and spend my time ogling idols, I seriously caught my self stopping and asking why the hell was I spending precious time on this. I mean, c’mon, we are preparing for Macau this Sunday and here I was thinking about what gifts we should give the YG crew. -______-
Anyhows, so I asked my boss if I could leave early from work to you know, MEET SANDARA PARK. I expected him to say NO WTF YOU CAN’T WE HAVE LOADS OF WORK TO DO so imagine how hard I fell off my chair when his eyes lit up and he asked, “OMG CAN I JOIN!??!?!” No shit. He did. And I was like “OF COURSE NOT! I’LL BE WITH FANGIRLS WTH!!!” And so after a petty argument, he was just like “Well, whatever. Just make sure you get me a personal greeting. With my complete name.”
WAT. He listens to 2NE1, btw and is crushing on Bom. I LOVE MY EMPLOYER. ^_^
So let’s go back to me and Mishi buying stuff for the 2NE1 girls. One thing you gotta know about me and that friend is that we’re as similar as a leaf and an iPod (me being the iPod, of course). We were bickering with each other 15 minutes before the mall closing because we couldn’t decide on what to give them. She wanted a bag, I thought it was gay. I wanted to give a coconut-summin’ summin’, she said it doesn’t fit their image. WHAT. THE. CRAP. I don’t even know how we managed to even finish shopping!!!!!! In the end we ended up getting them these:
DARA: A lacey wallet kinda jewel holder thingy. Something Filipinas used a long time ago when they’d go to church. I think. (Shuddup we bought it in a Filipino crafts store).
CL: Accessory of win. Beads worn by the indigenous people of the north. Or south. I dunno anymore. Please wear it in one of your perfs, girl!
BOM: Some pink-colored capiz-ish bangle. Because she doesn’t have enough bracelets.
MINJI: Farmer’s hat with the word Philippines on it…
And so this afternoon, Tin Tin, Paoji and Pao E (the official face of Kpop in the Phils as per Jessica Soho kthnx) dropped by my office so we could finish wrapping our stuff and writing our letters. I got Big Bang mini jeepneys, btw and we also gave YG a mini tricycle. Please don’t ask me why. It’s an Onli in Da PIlipins kind of thing shut your face. In the YG Family box was a letter to Big Bang as well as dried mangoes for everyone. I swear I’ll be a billionaire selling dried mangoes in Korea and Japan.

So we got to ABS CBN and met Hannah there at around 4:00. Again, our purpose was not to fangirl but to inform her of the Kpop con and such. It wasn’t a fan meet event and there were no other fans (if there were, well, it’s mostly the staff and maybe some friends). In fact, I specifically asked the girls to wear something… not-so-corporate-but-getting-there clothes. I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DID NOT COMPLY. PWNED. I mean, I could’ve gone as the 5th member of 2NE1 but unfortunately, the bad weather earlier this morning gave me the middle finger and I decided to come as… a very green person.
My friend from Interactive, AG was really disappointed when she saw me though.
AG: I THOUGH YOU WERE GONNA BE IN A 2NE1 COSTUME?!?! I BRAGGED YOU TO EVERYONE ALREADY hdsafagorhsdgkjkagd!!! *veins popping*
Kring: Uhm, I was just shitting with you, dude!!
AG: You never shit about things like that!!! YOU USED TO GO TO SCHOOL IN COSTUME, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! *glaring eyes*
Kring: But… I didn’t want to look like an idiot, mmmmkay?
AG: YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!
Kring: -_-;;
Kay, just so you guys know, I was never really a big fan of Sandara. You’re probably thinking we didn’t deserve to go there blah blah yaddah yaddah because we are Cassiopeia Philippines, after all. BUT DEAR GAWD, I’VE BEEN A FAN OF 2NE1 SINCE THEY DEBUTED AND CL FUCKIN’ PWNS MY FACE LIKE WHOAH. Plus, I love Big Bang (as you must’ve realized by now) and the YG, too so it’s like… SO MUCH WIN. And we’ve been contemplating since June, I think on changing the name to CassNE1 Ph because the FC heads are just crazy about the eh eh eh eh eh girls!
So Dara came out and we just internally combusted from spazzing. Well, I know I did. There weren’t that many people in the room but it was still intense and tight. And then a staff asked for 2 fans who can get inside the interview room and I was like HOLY SHIT ME ME ME ME ME (chigo shipeo)!!!!! Pao E and I went in first.
Dara was with a manager/roadie and a videocam-carrying eonni. Rumors are going around that it’s for 2NE1TV AND I FUCKING SWEAR I WILL FREAK OUT LIKE A LUNATIC ON DRUGS AND SHIT MY PANTS IF WE EVER APPEAR ON THAT SHOW. dsajfgajklahhflagle. NO EFFING WAIZ MAN. YG TRAINEE FTW!!!!!!
Amongst the confusion and organized chaos, I blurted out “bogoshipeo” when Dara looked my way and Pao E (who lived in Korea for two years) started talking to the eonni in Korean, who gave her “the look” >_>. When our turn ended, Tin Tin and Paoji took over and believe me, we got shitloads of photos and fancam videos.
And then all of a sudden, the staff said we are to present our gifts to Dara, which was being livestreamed on myx. I was like… What? Wait. What? Had I known, we were going to give it to her on cam, I would’ve wrapped the gift less uhm, sloppily (hey, we were wrapping it at 3:30pm). So anyway, we ended up being the reps (yet again) of the fans in Pinas. THANK GOD FOR DRIED MANGOES!!!!!!!!!!
Why the hell do I look like an anxious fan?!?!?!??!? WITH. MOTHER-EFFIN’. CLASPED. HANDS.
WAI.
Don’t worry, dear… We’ll do better next time!
And after I explained to her who those gifts are for, for some reason, I just blurted out “Please tell TOP to marry me.”

FUCK.
I mean, seriously, Kring? Seriously?
Who the hell says things like that?!?! Am I 12 or something?! I could’ve impressed her with my CL impersonation or said “your Filipino fans are excited to see you perform live with the group!” and that’s the best that I could come up with!??!?!? TELL TOP TO MARRY ME!??!?!?!?
I officially fail at life.

She also read our little note to her and somewhere along the way the interview ended and a swarm of employees flocked around her and then manager oppa said it was enough. We didn’t get to talk to her about the Kpop con anymore but heh… I don’t care eh eh eh eh eirrrr. WE GOT SIGNED POSTERS AND CD’S AND SHAT!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!! And we handed her our letter to Mr. YG, yo!
OMG was it tiring and I am still overwhelmed with what happened today! I really enjoyed the experience especially as it was very intimate and professional and there were no fans screaming their lungs out or flashing their boobs or anything.
Dara, thanks for the visit and for giving us the chance to show you our luuurrvvveee. Please enjoy the dried magoes and the uhm, lacey wallet thingamajig and I hope you’d really give our little gifts to the YG gang (Choi collects toys. He’d love my mini-jeepney ^_^).

Though I’m not a fan, Dara surely got my attention now. I mean, she has changed a lot! I think the first time I remember her (again) was when I read one of your posts about 2NE1. I mean, I never heard of her since time-knows-when, and I’m not that up-to-date with showbiz stuff here. Haha.
And to be honest, I expected a long “fangirling” post from you, but I never expected to be THAT long. I can imagine narrating everything in front of me, and, um, that would freak me out for a bit. Haha.

hahaha i’d like to thank google (specifically ’sandara park in manila’) for leading me to this funny (and definitely sexy) blogsite ^^. ok so i have to be honest I’ve only read 2 posts (obviously the sandara posts hehe) but i really enjoy the clever, and funny, and again sexy writing.
oh by the way i soo love the blog entries i’ve read so far that I even thought of sending you a DVD of the movie The Chaser, but given that i’m a complete stranger i guess that won’t be possible…ohh i forgot to mention…it’s a pirated copy…like the 300+ pirated korean movies i have on my collection since 2002 hahaha ^^. but then again The Chaser is indeed one of the best movies in 2008. probably when i get to seoul on my visit this october i’ll get you an original copy ^^.
i’m envious that you had the chance to meet sandara yesterday, the last (and first, and only) time i get that ‘close encounters of the krung-krung kind’ was february in 2007 at Greenbelt 3, i was looking at the movie schedule for the Ghost Rider movie when sandara appeared on my left side so i moved and give her some space so she can get a better look at the movie sched and she smiled at me.

H-h-h-hey!!! Imma fan, too! Imma fan, too! And it was so nice to see you there, representing the Kpop fandom here in the P.I.!!
Yeah, it was really awesome and that experience was my first, too. I’d never been a… umm… hardcore fanboy on someone and had shown so much enthusiasm to meet or see something but that day was the extreme… the big boss even had the blessing to have us skip work and wait for her… DESPITE THE HEAVY DEADLINES LINED UP FOR ME. Hahahaha! Ate Cathy (one of our producers) talaga made sure that we’ll be there to catch her before the interview proper. AT HINILA AKO PAPASOK SA LOOB.
It was frustrating, tho, that I wasn’t able to give her anything. Left my sketch of her at home, my mini album still shipping for like forever, and then my Pentel pen got lost somewhere. But the experience of being there watching her talk and do her crazy antics from start to finish was, to be honest, one of the happiest moments of my life. Hahaha! =D You know naman na I’m a huge fan of 2NE1 (specifically Dara). I nearly went gago for shouting with Moby (of MYX) and you prolly have noticed na tinuturuan ko people dun about some questions. Kinantahan ko kaya si Dara ng line niya sa Take A Bow kaya niya bigla naalala yung part niya. Hahaha!
One more thing—TUMABI TALAGA AKO SA KANYA SA PICTURE. Hahahahaha!!!!!
I’m not sure if I can write my own fan account on my blog (since I’ve already done that on Soompi). But this one already completed my day.

i’m neither a sandara park nor a 2ne1 fan but seeing a familiar face really got me excited. *winks*
btw, i got to know about 2ne1 via perez hilton’s blog and how he raved about these girls. but honestly their songs are totally catchy, i find myself humming to “Lollipop” while i was doing the laundry one day, wtf is happening to me?!
back to my intro, i said i was thrilled to catch a familiar person on video. turns out it really was her, kring-kring. that ballsy, high school classmate of mine. i doubt if she still remembers me, but that doesn’t matter.
i found the proposal part amusing. though i was not surprised coz i know kring is keen in pulling surprises like that out of her sleeve.
haha. kudos to you kring. you’ve come a long way girl. i see your blog is earning all the recognition it deserves. ^_^

I wish many Filipino fans are nice to fans from another country
I like your blog about Dara and you & your friends seem very nice
I just wish there are more nice than mean ones
I don’t know why I am commenting but I am just noticing many mean filipinos being rude all over kpop articles, forums, and videos.
and to my surprise, I am shocked to found a video in youtube and read the comments from there that even a foreigner who loves your country can be bashed, spammed his/her nice comments, called names, and all things bad only because he/she loves your country, your people, and your language.

unfortunately for you nice Filipinos, I am not the only foreigner who read the comments on that video and got unhappy.
I can always understand if Filipinos would bash mean foreigners on the web
but reading and seeing Filipinos attack and disrespect a foreigner online who proudly admires your culture and your nation is very disturbing.
And as much as I want to admire your country too, I am very turned-off as of this moment (due to disgust and shock).

I am only giving a sincere first impression from a foreign Kpop fan viewing a Dara Filipino video on youtube who just read bad comments against another foreign Kpop fan (who at the same time loves Phil and Filipinos).

but mostly I meant the Filipinos bashing foreigners (particularly the one named lodyd) over from that dreaded youtube video.

I will never forget the comments from that bloody video cos I was so surprised that a foreigner (named lodyd) who adores your country and culture would be disgustingly bashed by the very Filipinos he/she proudly loves.
that is why I commented on how I wish there are more nice than mean ones.
