For the longest time now, Kpop fans have been scattered all over the Philippines, with only the internet as a place of convergence. For the longest time, Filipino Kpop fans have been staying within the fringes of the global kpop fanbase. Forums, groups, and private meetings could only go so much. Now, for the first time ever, we present to you the first ever Philippine Kpop Convention, an event that boasts of being the largest gathering of Kpop fans in the country. Local FCs finally unite under the banner of one event that aims not only to bring Kpop fans together, but to support a cause that would help less fortunate children through Gawad Kalinga.
Don’t miss it… for anything in the world! For more information, please visit kpopcon.info.
Yes, you read that right! I am tigggeeerrrr! Or, well, the tiger is me. Erm. Confused yet? Read on…
Basically, last May, we did two Who Dares Kring episodes at the Avilon Zoo in Montalban and I became friends with their head Marketing/Animal Welfare person, sir Noel (shoutout!!). I also celebrated my birthday there with the Gerry’s Gang, which means we disturbed the peace and quiet of the jungle-like place.
Anyhooo (long story short), as a birthday wish I asked if a tiger cub can be named after yours truly. A few months later, my wish was finally granted. Presenting… Kring-Kring the Tiger!
… Or more like Hallo-win! An epic night/morning of adventure like this calls for a blog entry. Teehee.
WARNING: LONG AND SPASTIC AND IMAGE-HEAVY. I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHY YOU’D WANNA READ IT BUT IT PRETTY MUCH CHRONICLED MY CRAZY NIGHT. UHM. YEAH. KTHNX.
So last week, my friend, Ivan threatened that he’ll end our friendship if I don’t join him for Halloween, as I haven’t been hanging out much with him lately (well, I haven’t been going out much, really). I spent last year’s Halloween with him and other friends at Ponti but this time, I made sure I was in costume. I had a few days to figure out what I’ll be coming as and decided to make a poll on my Facebook account. The “80′s aerobics instructor” beat out “Lady Gaga”, “gangstah” and “gothic chic”, among others. LOL. The power of the tanga.
And so I came in as an “80′s aerobics instructor” and made sure that I tagged along other friends in the craziness. Mishi came as a “Chinese restaurant waitress”, Wil was a “not-so-cowboyish cowboy” (dude, you had the Charlie Chaplin hat) and Chris was a “confused sailor-turned-miner”. Wutda?
