Speaker In The House!

No, kids. I’m not dyslexic. I have no intentions of writing about the current Speaker of the House aka Sonny Belmonte.

You see, it seems like Imma be a “speaker” in a couple of symposia these coming weeks. Sometimes, it really boggles me that I get invited to give talks when 1) I LOL at the way I give my talks and 2) I end up speaking like Nicole Hyala, which doesn’t work all the time. In any case, I feel grateful and honored that I get to speak in front of an audience, who are mostly students and share my 2-cents on media, blogging and video production.

What: 2010 Public Relations Students Congress
When: SEPTEMBER 11, 2010
Where: Educational Auditorium of UST

Yours truly will be speaking along with Carlo Ople about New Media, Youth Perception and Reaction, specifically on what the role of new media is in effective PR and in nation building and re-branding. I’m super excited for this one, not only because it talks about how we can help our own country but more so because IT’S IN UST, YO!!! Just a couple of years ago, I would sit in the audience and be the participant in such activities and now, I’m actually gonna stand there on stage and brainwash the students to watch my Direk videos! IMBA.

What: ImMEDIAcy: The 2010 Mass Media Awareness Month
When: SEPTEMBER 17, 2010
Where: UP College of Mass Comm

For this one, Flippish.com is a media partner and so we have a lot of participation in the event. On the 17th, Chrina and I will moderate their Biga10 2010: MMAM Pop Media Debate Cup, if I’m not mistaken. Honestly, I’m not so sure what exactly I’m gonna do there. For all I know, I could just be dancing to Kpop songs. In my tanga and bustiere so watch out for that. It might be a good material for a viral video.

What: WordCamp 2010
When: OCTOBER 2, 2010
Where: La Salle- College of Saint Benilde

Wordcamp is perhaps one of the most awaited and definitely one of the biggest blogging events in the country. I mean, majority of blogs and websites are WordPress based, right? (Don’t quote me on this, I dunno my tech). I first talked about videoblogging in Wordcamp last 2008 and though I got the lowest number of attendees for my talk (LOL), I immensely enjoyed it.

This year, I’m back with another presentation about videoblogging again but this time, it’s gonna be KEKAZZZ (and definitely funnysexier)!!! I made my title more “pornographic lulz” – The Internet is Not Just for Porn (Videos can be wholesome, too!)”- in the hopes that I get more than 20 participants to attend and that 80% of them aren’t my friends.
