Ever since I started video blogging more than 3 years ago, I have always wanted my own camera. Don’t get me wrong, I actually have two – an old-school 2004 Sony Handycam and a Panasonic DVX100B, both of which I cannot bring along with me everyday because uhm, wtf they’re heavy. Plush, both need a mini DV tape to record. You also don’t expect me to take stalker shots with my MacBook Pro, do you?

Also, I’m not the biggest gadgets person. I have only bought 2 phones in my life and they’re mainly used for calling and texting and recording my personal sex scandals which are hidden in my super secret vimeo account You wanna watch? It’s $100/year. And I don’t change phones, too, unless they die on me. And my previous Sony Ericsson W760i did, about two weeks ago. T____T

So imagine my joy when I woke up one morning and I got myself a Nokia N8. Too many Nokia models, I have lost track already. “What the heck is so special about it anyway?“, I asked my overly-enthusiastic boyfriend. “MY GAWD BEBE THE LENS IS SUPER GOOD YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY A DIGICAM ANYMORE AND IT RECORDS VIDEO ON HD AND IT’S LIKE A DATA PHONE AND IT’S SLEEK AND WTF GIVE IT TO ME IF YOU DON’T WANT!!!!!” (Yes, he said that in one go and his mouth was even frothing)

So I was like… Cool! Lemme put it first to a test – video blogging test! And friends, this was the result. (Disclaimer: Stupid me forgot to remove the sticker on the lens when this was shot so it should’ve been clearer >_<)

Ano ba talaga ang “Dalagang Pilipina”? Pwedeng paki-define? Buong buhay ko nang naririnig ang katagang iyan pero parang hindi ma-reconcile sa isip ko ang stereotype na ‘to at ang realidad na nakikita ko sa paligid ko. Kung si Maria Clara ang basehan ng pagiging dalagang Pilipina, eh shet. Bakit hindi na lang tayo mag-kalesa papasok ng opisina?

Anyway, dahil super gusto ko talagang malaman ang depinisyon ng “DP”, ginoogle ko ito. Swerto ko naman may na-jackpot-an akong FB page… Ayon sa “DALAGANG PILIPINA SOCIETY” (true story),

nais lamang iparating ng aming society na kahit sa panahong ito na marami nang pinagbago ang mga pilipina, nais naming may manatali kahit kaunti sa mga kaugalian noon.. maging sa kilos o sa isip man ito..

hindi kailangang magbago kung sino ka talaga.. dapat ay magiging totoo ka pa din at ilabas ang totoong ikaw..

pagiging konserbatibo. mahalaga ito para sa kababaihan. isa itong ugali kung saan ating naiingatan ang sarili sa anumang mga bagay-bagay.. hindi naman kailangan na mag-saya o palda ng mahaba tulad noong unang panahon.. ang aming nais ay magsuot ng damit na maayos at hindi malaswang tingnan..

hindi ipinagababawal ang makipag-kasintahan, basta’t ipagbigay-alam muna sa mga co-dps.. alamin din ang limitasyon.. at pumili ng pribadong lugar kapag kayo ay mag-uusap..

Wow! Naks naman! Kelangan pala magtago kami pag kelangan naming mag-usap. Di ba mas delikado yun? Kaming dalawa lang… tago… nag-i-init ang mga katawan. Charot! But seriously, kinaya niyo ang DPS?
