It’s a Goal!

Written by Kring Elenzano on January 1st, 2011. Posted in Personal

My first blog entry this year was all about my goals for 2010. I feel like the past 365 days went by too fast and so many things have happened and today, if you live in Korea, you would automatically be a year older – make that two, if you’re that unlucky (which is why Jimmy Kim, who was born on November 1983 just turned 29 years old. True story). Excuse my digression. I have ADHD, you see…

So I wanna check, out of all the goals that I’ve set for my self, which ones was I able to accomplish? And is goal-setting really effective? We’ll find out… *insert game show suspense sound effect here* now.

1. This year, I will have a car

- Did not happen. Honestly, I could’ve bought one if I wanted to but then I won’t have any savings left. I won’t be commuting anymore, sure, but I’ll be eating pancit canton every single fuckin’ day. Not healthy.

2. This year, I will have a video with Ramon Bautista

It may not be an online/viral video indie shit that I wanted but… I guested on the Brewrats’ show last June (were I was made fun of for going out with “Ramil”) and we were on Pinoy Parazzi Live! together! I GOT PIC(S) TO PROVE, BITCH.

We’re so bagay, we should be a love team. Admit it.

Much thanks for archiving, you can watch out video here. Yes, that was me sitting on his lap, thank you very much.

3. This year, I will go to Korea

And boy was it, EPIC! It has been the best vacation/travel I’ve had so far and I can’t wait to go back again. I didn’t get “discovered” in the subway (while I was busy trying to look cute, fluttering my eyelashes and at random middle-aged guys who could pass for talent agents) like how I planned it, but it’s never too late. I’M DEFINITELY GOING BACK THERE THIS YEAR. And maybe Japan, too!

Seriously, if it was a little warmer, I would walk around the streets of Seoul wearing… a hanbok!

By the way, you can read my posts about my Korya experience here and here. The last entry is still waiting to be posted. Lulz.

4. This year, I will be cast in a movie (preferably mainstream) and will have a regular TV show

Despite having failed to audition anywhere this year again, I became a regular segment host on GoNegosyo, Kaya Mo! Saturdays and Sundays, 8-8:30 am. Sure, I’m also the director of the show but who cares? Our relatives and neighbors may have not seen a SINGLE Flippish video but they “always see me on TV with Gladys Reyes and I look fatter on cam…” >___>

The entrepreneur and the tindera.

I never got to promote it here because I doubt that my three readers actually wake up THAT early on weekends. But yeah, please check it out, if you can! I wish for more TV shows this yeaaaaarrrr!!!

5. This year, I will make money off of my blog

Hmmm… This one, I’m not quite sure of. Because I know that even if I don’t directly earn from this, I may have gotten good exposure, and got invited to be a speaker for various events and whatnot. But technically, no. I haven’t earned a penny from blogging BUT I SHOULD. Pak!

6. This year, I will work harder

Why the hell did I make these vague statements/goals??? Work harder??? WTF. I have no idea. I don’t work on weekends anymore and have chosen life over Final Cut, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint but I had a lot of outputs last year and was able to manage stress better, I guess.

7. This year, I will have a spread in a magazine

Not yet a spread but I was on the August issue of FHM for the Flippish Anniversary feature! AND I BECAME AN AXE HOTTIE, YOU KNOW.

8. This year, I will find love

And it was much more than I expected. As you guys probably know, I had a boyfriend for the first time in my life, this year, in the person of Jimmy Kim. I never thought I’d end up this much in love but I have to tell you, that boy did something to me (he calls it magic, and lowering standards lolz)! Heck, I even started a My Korean Boyfriend blog and twitter account just for him. Our videos even won in the Blog Awards! WTF.

This picture defines our relationship really well

Being the other half of the Krimmy Couple is definitely the highlight of my 2010 and I would never trade it for a movie award or $1000 Google AdSense. As my friend said, KRIMMY IS THE NEW CHEESY and you can expect more cheese and crack from us this 2011, for sure!

So let’s see… 5-6 out of those 8 goals became a reality. Not bad, huh? I believe that writing down your goals really does help, not because a genie in a bottle is lurking around somewhere, granting your wishes because you rubbed him the right way. It’s because you throw it to the universe and maybe, just maybe, it’s true that the universe listens to us. Furthermore, you have claimed those goals and they’re in your subconscious, constantly scratching on your back so you get off your feet to make them happen. Well, that’s a nice way to put it.

Dear 2011,

Please be ready because I will own you. The past year has been cute and all but I’m not too fond of cute – I WANT FIERCE! I already claim that this will be the best year in my life thus far, full of happiness, beauty and love! Let’s hop our way to the top! Whoohoo!
