Shopping in Korea

Written by Kring Elenzano on May 23rd, 2011. Posted in Fangirl, Korea, Personal, Places and Travel

So it’s only been Day 8 of our Korea “vacation” and I’m running out of cash already. We still have more than a week left here and I srsly have no idea how I’ll manage my budget. And to think most of the time, Jimmy’s bosses and colleagues even treat us to lunch and dinner! Anyway, I said I’ll be updating you guys on what we’ve been up to here and the first post was about the food that I’ve eaten here for the first time. This time around, I’ll share with you the things that have eaten up my money. Excuse my materialism. I REALLY CANNOT REFUSE THESE AWESOME THINGS T_____T!!! Some of these are pasalubong but I won’t tell you which ones.

Korean cosmetics (win in life so much).

I know you guys will agree with me when I say that whoever invented the BB cream should be awarded a Nobel prize. It’s so fucking awesome, I cannot go out of the house without it anymore! I’ve personally been using The Face Shop’s Aqua chorva but pretty much anything from any brand is worth buying. Also, Korean cosmetics are formulated for Asian skin and in general are really good and much much cheaper than Japanese products (which IMO are super quality) so I know you won’t take it against me if I hoard them. How can I not?! The shops give away so much samples!!! PS: if you’re younger than 20, I really don’t recommend that you use make-up. It’s better to be a natural beauty / ugly duckling than a 25 y/o who looks like she’s had 3 kids and been through 2 divorces.

YG Kpop merchandise.

Contrary to popular belief, I really don’t buy Kpop merch. I got very few CDs and that’s it. But I bought my 2nd 2NE1 album (because you know… we’ll be seeing them next month) and of course, my belove Big Bang’s latest album, too! And how can I say no to those super adorable BIG BANG SOCKS?!?! And YG name plates! And oh, why the hell is there a Kim Junsu?

Korean accessories from CNA.

These lovely and fashionable accessories are from our friends from CNA, a quite popular accessory store chain here in Korea. The quality is really good, and they’re very affordable, too! Prices range from Php 20- Php 40 but the quality is faaaar from those made in China. We’ll be going back there next week and uuggghhhh somebody please stop me from spending my life savings there!

Korean clothes, shoes and bag from Myeongdong and Dongdaemun.

Because I’m an idiot who only brought sundresses and sandals going here, I had to buy stockings, leggings and shoes for the chilly mornings and nights. But I really didn’t bring so many clothes because I knew I was gonna shop anyway and MAN THESE KOREAN CLOTHES ARE EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE!!! You can get a REALLY nice shirt or dress for Php 200 – Php 400! My mouth froths whenever I’m in shopping centers, good thing I got Yongjin around to pull me away from the racks.

Shirt from Plastic Island.

This is officially the most expensive shirt that I own as it costs around Php 2400 and please don’t ask me why. The thread used is probably made of gold and orphan tears. Don’t worry, a kind-hearted man just bought it for me. Thanks so much, sir! ^___^

Official Big Bang Show shirt from Uniqlo.

BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT IN LIFE, OKAY?!?!

So those are just some of the things that I bought. That doesn’t include yet my transportation, food and “tourism” expenses. I still feel the need to buy more cosmetics and fangirl stuff but let’s see… I haven’t even bought pasalubong yet! I got credit card bills to pay when I get back home but I don’t want think about that yet. Live in the moment, that’s what I tell my self. Live in the moment and be broke in the future. HAHAHAHA! Oh gawd I need a racket. XDDD

Will update you again next time, loves~ I’ve been to some pretty cool places, not just in Seoul! And I haven’t even met up with my friends yet!

ps: Check this out, too!
