Tatt Awards

I am really excited to be part of this project. You just can’t see it but I’m internally spazzing now and even flailing my arms. Because I’m animated like that.

As some of you may know, 95% of Filipinos online are active in social media. That includes you, me, our parents, our neighbor’s pets, and even the MMDA. For that, the country has been dubbed the “Social Networking Capital of the World”. We sure love communicating, huh? We still are, afterall, the Texting Capital of the World.

With this whole “social media revolution” going on, Tattoo has responded by creating the first-ever Tatt Awards, a series of accolades celebrating Filipinos who share Tattoo’s fiery passion and who have used that energy to create a strong and unforgettable social media presence. AND YOU KNOW EEET!

According to Dong Ronquillo, Tattoo Head of Nomadic Broadband Business, “Tattoo is all about making your mark and your own personal definition of greatness. The Tatt Awards is our venue to recognize those individuals that through their passion and individuality have created a space that is uniquely theirs, but sincerely shared with others.”

You can nominate your self (or your bets) and check out the mechanics at http://tattoo.globe.com.ph/tattawards/ All that the nominee needs is one (1) social media account for PERSONAL use or the group that s/he is part of. Blog, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Vimeo, anything! Content must be original and with no copyright infringement violations.

And what are the categories, you ask? THERE ARE 10 (just like the # of NKOTBSB members minus Kevin Richardson).

1. Word Slayer - Blogger with unique wit and humor that everyone’s trying to emulate.
2. Video Slinger – Videoblogs of win!
3. #Thought-Mover - It’s all about the hashtag, baby!
4. The Artiste - Visual art, graphic design, animation, photography and the likes.
5. The Advocate - Social media for a cause.
6. Indie Rocker – For musical bands and indie artists who continue to create and share amazing music online.
7. Stylisimo - One word: FASHOWN.
8. Ballbreaker – A blogger or a Twitterer who started a debate or revolution of opinions with one hard-hitting post.
9. Tech Junkie – Technology, gadgets, the internet and everythaaaang!
10. The One - The most influential trendsetter of them all. Like ever.

When I first learned about this I was like “OMFG this is a really cool idea. I WILL NOMINATE MYSELF 10,000 x AND YOU CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!” So just imagine my surprise when they asked me to be part of THE COUNCIL (of judges).

Globe Tatt Awards Council. Not a secret society. But my blonde hair suits me, noh?

I cannot join anymore but do I care? Are you kidding me? I already feel like a winner to be judging this prestigious (naks!) “competition” alongside amazing people such as:

What are you waiting for, guys? Nomination period is from June 30-July 14 only. The winner per category gets Php100,000 worth of cash and subscription to a Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini plan. But more than the cash and the plan, c’mon, BRAGGING RIGHTS!!!! I cannot wait to see the shortlisted entries and I’m super ready to pull a Lady Gaga at the awards night on August 27!
