EXCLUSIVE: Kim Hyun Joong Interview!

OMG. I don’t even know where to begin.

Long story short, Philippine Kpop Committee, Inc. was granted a 15-min interview – on video – with Kim Hyun Joong for his Break Down promo tour. This was confirmed last month and since then, we’ve been anticipating the event. I want to give a shout out to former PKCI chair, Aya Villareal and Mirza (who’s also with Triple S Ph) for arranging everything for the team. Of course, to Polyeast Philippines for giving PKCI this opportunity.

Apologies in advance for the incoherence of this post but you cannot expect a fangirl to be sane in times like this. Earlier this afternoon, we went to EDSA Shangri-la for Kim Hyun Joong’s press conference and like the others, had to wait for about 2 hours before he came out. While waiting, I was able to chat up with fellow fangirls and man, I was even ambush-interviewed by MYX VJ, Bianca Roque before the show started when she saw me holding a paper with Hangul written on it! LOL. I ended up promoting the Kpop Convention hahaha (which is happening this December, by the way)!

At 4pm, he finally came out. Kim Hyun Joong came out looking mightily gorgeous. I think everyone in the room, men included, died inside a little soon as he stepped on stage and pwned everyone with his good looks and suplado charms.

I know this photo is shitty but even with this quality, you could see how hot Kim Hyun Joong  is.

Oh, funny thing. I kinda recognized his translator but I wasn’t really sure. Apparently, his English name is “Cooper” and unfortunately, when I met him last June, he was introduced with his Korean name. LOL FAIL. When I got home, I confirmed it. He’s actually my boyfriend’s sorta hoobae from their Koryan photo club.

HE LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME, RIGHT?!!?

It’s one of those times when you’d really say WTFLULZ out loud in real life. I sure did.

So anyway, the press con went on fine and some cameraman pissed Hyun Joong off when he kept on shouting at the people in front of him to not block his view WHILE the idol was talking. What kind of rudeness is that?! Making a scene just to take a better shot?! KHJ was like “Ne? ne?” while looking at the cameraman as if saying “Is there a problem over there? Do you just wanna talk here in front?” Oh, you are indeed Jaejoong’s BFF.

Right after the press con, we left the hall and waited for our turn for the interview. We were grouped with the song magazine, Most Wanted Hits and waited at the Paparazzi resto with our cameraman. Yes, we brought a DVX100 and a cameraman with us, mic and all that jazz included. Unfortunately, at the last minute, we were denied the video coverage. Not even taking photos were allowed.

Oh, well. We really didn’t have much of a choice and proceeded to do the interview smoothly. In case you missed out on what I just wrote – I INTERVIEWED KIM HYUN JOONG “ONE-ON-ONE” (It’s technically one-on-three haha). Trust me, I wanted to interview him about his friendship with Jaejoong, TOP and Yoochun and his dreams of going to the outer space but I think those were too 4D for their taste. Again, PKCI will be updating you with the interview.

Some of the things I noticed about him since I was seated just 3 feet away: his eyes are really big for a Korean, considering he didn’t have surgery. And his skin is super flawless and his teeth is straight and white and his shoes were… I want a pair, too! Also, he’s very calm. Totally not animated like many celebs that I know.

Before we knew it, the interview was already done. I asked the manager if I could give him some gifts and since I said it was from the fans, particularly Triple S Philippines (which is a PKCI affiliate), there’s no way they weren’t accepting it! My gawd, I’m telling you. The gift was not cheap. I wouldn’t even buy that! Sosyal the lolas!

While waiting for the cameras for our group photo, I decided to chat him up – in Korean.

“나의 남자친구 도 한국인 입니다 (My boyfriend is Korean, too)”, I nonchalantly said. That somehow broke the ice, not just with him but with the rest of the Korean staff as well. They seemed pleasantly surprised at my fail Hangukeo and KHJ had this “Really?!” look on his face, which was exactly what CL gave me when I told her the same thing.

“하지만 한국말 아직 잘 못해요 (but I can’t speak Korean well yet).” I heard some of them laugh but they seemed more amused than anything. Hell, I’d be amused, too if I heard a random Palestinian speak in Tagalog. We capped the interview with an epic group photo. YES THIS EPIC!!!!

I know, I know, I’m a lucky bitch. Look, my left arm is even touching his back. Oh gawd…

We said our thank yous and goodbyes and right away, I, along with Julie (of PKCI and Triple S) rushed to Trinoma for the Hi-5 Touch event. Unfortunately, we didn’t get stubs because we got there 5 minutes before it started. However, with our passes, we were able to sit right in front.

Also, I was able to take this photo which made me look like a total douche.

My gawd, Filipinos sure love Kim Hyun Joong! Not only was the Trinoma Activity Center packed, the people who participated in the Hi-5 Touch event came from all walks of life! I hope he felt the warmth of the Filipinos and I’m quite positive, he’ll be back here and who knows, maybe ask me out.

Congratulations to everyone behind this event especially Lola Pat and her daughter, Ms. Maru Ragasa who wrote that open letter that touched the hearts of the organizers (PolyEast). You guys deserve this. Much love!
