Alodia’s Fantasy

Written by Kring Elenzano on September 28th, 2011. Posted in Celebrity, Contest, Pop Culture

“Alodia’s Fantasy is a fulfillment of Alodia’s dream world” – that’s what it says on the website. But for me Alodia’s Fantasy is much more than that – it’s actually a show that is set to bring Philippine cosplay to another level. Let me tell you why…

You know in your heart it’s your fantasy, too!

Alodia’s Fantasy, unlike many of the cosplay activities that Filipinos are used to is NOT an event – it is a show. A show with cameramen, with floor, technical and main directors, with editors and high production value. It’s like a TV special, except online. And who else can pull off something this big but Flippish.com – the pioneer of livestreaming entertainment in the country. No, I ain’t just saying that ‘coz I was their creative director or host before…

Since it’s not bound by TV or cable, this show is NOT JUST for local fans but for international cosplay enthusiasts as well!!! Yes, guys, as long as you have internet connection, you can watch and participate!!! Alodia’s Fantasy is, after all, the First Online Interactive Cosplay Show.

Zuno (Kim Junho) for AJ Matela

Ladies and gents, that’s me with my dear friend, AJ Matela of baklaako.com (and Tiff Chua!) from the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards. I have tons of memories with that guy and in fact, I met him on my first blog event. Heck, we even starred in the award-winning We Love Trinoma spoof video, which was shot on the same day that we met! AJ was not only one of the most prominent figures in the Philippine blogosphere – he was loved by soooo many people.

Last Sept 8, however, AJ finally joined the Lord after months of intense battle with his illness. He was laid to rest last week and though we’ll miss him very much, we know that he’s in a much better place right now… and he’s happy.

One obstacle that the Matela family needs to hurdle now are the hospital bills. His amazing friends are doing everything they can to help raise funds for him, even holding a fundraising event this Saturday. Well, I thought I’d just do my little part…

So I’m auctioning off my OFFICIAL EXCLUSIVE AND LIMITED EDITION ZUNO MINIATURE CARICATURE DOLL, which was personally given to me by his producers from Singapore!!! Heck, I haven’t even opened the box until I took this photo:

Zuno is DBSK’s Kim Junsu’s twin brother (in case you’ve been living under a rock)!

Less than 1000 people has this, I was told. It doesn’t get more exclusive than this.

tvN K-POP Star Hunt

Written by Kring Elenzano on September 16th, 2011. Posted in Advertorial, Contest, Fangirl, Korea, Pop Culture

I really wanted to be the Lee Hyori of the Philippines.

In 2004, when I first became a Kpop fan, Hyori was the goddess of the scene. 2003 was dubbed as the “Year of Hyori”, in fact. However, she captured my heart the most on Family Outing in 2008 because she showed the world how funny, sexy and fierce she is and most of all, she’s not afraid to make fun of her self.

But perhaps growing old does change a person’s priorities. It dawned on me that my calling was not to become a pop star but a famous host and an award-winning actress (did you see what I did thaaar?).

Is my swag enough for Kpop? No? Kthnxbi.
(Hosting the 2nd Philippine Kpop Convention on December 2010)

Even then, I am aware that many of my readers and friends from the Kpop community do dream of performing in front of thousands of people, of winning a Daesang, of hangin’ out with their idols backstage.

So, do you wanna be the next big Kpop star? Hold on to your seats, boys and girls ‘coz you’re one step closer to your goal! Presenting the tvN KPop Star Hunt Contest! And Funny is the New Sexy is an OFFICIAL BLOG PARTNER! Whoohoo! I was told I’ll be covering this event as well and asdfghjkl tvN, I’ll be your kids’ nanny for a week if you send me to Korea for the finals or something and I get to hangout with Beast OHGAWD *nosebleeds*.
